Year 1 had a brilliant time feeling and tasting different fruits and vegetables as part of our DT healthy eating topic. They then had to describe them using wonderful adjectives.

We went outside to see how many different shapes we could find. I set the children mini challenges to find specific shapes. As you can see from the hexagon they found, year 1 did not disappoint.

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed this science investigation. We looked for invertebrates in a small area and recorded how many of each kind we could find. Earthworms were the most common. They were everywhere!

Year 1 had a fabulous time making junk houses out of lots of different materials.

The children tried to make a strong house out of either straws, sticks or bricks. The straw and stick houses were not very tough, just like the 3 little pigs story.
