Year 4 were thinking scientifically this afternoon to group animals by their different features, needs or habitats. First, we considered the possible groups that these animals might go into. Then, we learnt all about reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds and fish.
Can you remember how to decide which group an animal belongs in?
We had lots of fun in maths today, using our knowledge of rounding to the nearest ten and hundred to push ourselves and round to the nearest thousand. The children challenged each other by rolling dice, adding and rounding to see who could cover the most numbers on our number squares.
Y3 have been learning how to read a measuring scale in Maths. They had to estimate what they thought each object weighed before using the scale. It was harder than it looked!
Y3 have enjoyed a fabulous day at Forest School, thanks to The Nomad Rangers! We have built dens, made creatures out of clay and natural materials, made s’mores on the fire and built our own bug hotels. We enjoyed a delicious healthy lunch outside too, best day ever!
Well done to all of Year 3, you worked really hard on your 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Congratulations to our finalists: Max, Daniel, Olivia, Alexander, Jack W and Alex.
